Celebrating the Africa’s Most Promising Entrepreneurs and Startups
Africa StartUp Cup Mission
To empower a culture of startups and entrepreneurship in communities throughout Africa via StartUp Cup Challenge programs driven by business model competitions that support entrepreneurs to create the companies of the future, generate jobs, and enhance local entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Developing Entrepreneurs | Building a Better Future
Africa StartUp Cup was been created as a natural extension of the StartUp Cup mission, reinforcing our commitment to growing and celebrating entrepreneurs throughout Africa. In its first year, Africa StartUp Cup is open to first place winners from each local Africa based StartUp Cup and winners of Extreme Build-A-Business Workshops that hold their awards celebration anytime between January, 1, 2015 and by April 15, 2016.
The first place winning startups will have the opportunity to travel to Ghana to present their business models along with the progress made since entering their local Africa StartUp Cups to an international panel of judges comprised of selected local StartUp Cups judges throughout Africa. This year’s event takes place April 28, 29 and 30, 2016.
The winning startup will receive thousands of dollars in tailored coaching and mentoring from StartUp Cups growing network of mentors and coaches, prizes and access unique and customized resources to support advancing Africa StartUp Cup competitors and winners.
Ghana was selected from a number of competing cities throughout Africa based on their commitment to developing a diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem where entrepreneurs with any type of business idea, from any background or education level are encouraged to grow and are celebrated as the true heroes of their community.
